GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) Grand Island police called out a tactical response team Friday to arrest a man who had fired a shot into the floor of his apartment.

Police say Antonio Rivera, 21, of Grand Island refused to answer his door when police arrived. They then called in a tactical response team and Rivera surrendered peacefully.

Police say Rivera fired the gun into the floor of his apartment near 26th and Carleton. The bullet also passed through the ceiling and a wall of the apartment below. No-one was injured.

When police got into Rivera's apartment they found shell casings and a holster, but no weapon.

Rivera was arrested but has since been released from jail at this time. Hall County Attorney Jack Zitterkopf tells NBC Nebraska they did not have enough substantial evidence at this time to charge Rivera, but his office is taking this situation very seriously.

Zitterkopf says they are still reviewing the material regarding the arrest and will welcome further information if it comes forward.
