LINCOLN, Neb. – Gateway Mall announced the winners of its "The Challenge: Battle of the Pop-Up," a contest that awards two area entrepreneurs with a rent-free space for six months, use of existing fixtures, and free utilities.

The first winner, Hayley Stamper, will debut h.flynn on Wednesday, November 1 next to American Eagle.

h.flynn will offer custom apparel and accessories for girls and women of all ages and sizes including T-shirts, tanks, hoodies, trucker hats, bleacher seats, blankets, towels, duffel bags, Nebraska and high school gear and more.

Sarah Mullins, the second winner of the contest, will unveil Feya Candle Company, showcasing soy candles in scents such as cranberry apple, crème brûlée, and harvest and cedar. Mall visitors can find Feya Candle Company in Center Court when it opens on Wednesday, November 1.

“We’re thrilled to work with Hayley Stamper and Sarah Mullins to help grow their local businesses,” said Chad Becwar, general manager at Gateway Mall. “Our Battle of the Pop-Up contest had many good entries and we appreciate area entrepreneurs and recognize that they are vital to the success of the community as a whole. While we were only able to pick two winners, we will be working with everyone who submitted to see if they would be interested partnering with the mall in future programs.

"Myself and our whole Feya Family are ecstatic and completely honored to have been chosen in the Battle of the Pop-Up challenge,” said Mullins. “As a long time resident of Lincoln, I feel extremely privileged to be a part of a space that has been such a big part of our city. Running a micro-business can be very daunting and the opportunity to share our products with the shoppers of Gateway Mall is going to allow us the reach we've been hoping for! Since we're a give-back company, the more we grow, the more we get to give and this space will help us grow in a beautiful way!"

Battle of the Pop-Up began earlier this summer. Anyone entering the contest was required to obtain a business license by Wednesday, November 1, 2017 and be prepared to operate their business during mall hours from Wednesday, November 1, 2017 through Monday, April 30, 2018. Entries were judged on business strategy, concept creativity, and likelihood of profitability among other criteria.
