LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Nebraska volleyball team defeated Kentucky (25-19, 25-22, 25-27, 25-22) to advance to their third straight Final Four, marking the first time in Nebraska history the Huskers have gone to three consecutive NCAA Semifinals.

The Huskers notched their 30th win of the season and 15th straight with the win over the Wildcats, who were seeded one spot higher than Nebraska.

Nebraska dropped its first set of the NCAA Tournament in Set 3. The Huskers fell behind 15-10 in Set 3, but surged back to take a 21-20 and had match point, but Kentucky rallied to force a fourth frame.

But in Set 4, the Huskers never trailed. Kentucky kept it close, but Nebraska was too much for the Wildcats, and a Kentucky service error ended it.

Mikaela Foecke led the Huskers with 18 kills, Annika Albrecht added 14 and Briana Holman had 11 and led Nebraska with a .421 hitting percentage.

Kelly Hunter had 11 digs and 46 assists, putting her over 4,000 assists for her career and behind only Fiona Nepo in Nebraska history.

The Huskers will play the tournament's top-seed, Penn State, Thursday at 6 p.m. in Kansas City.

That match will be on ESPN.

The winner of that match will play the winner of Stanford vs. Florida at 8 p.m. on Saturday.
