Inmate dies at Saunders County Corrections

A 19-year-old inmate who was being held at Saunders County Corrections has died by suicide, police said.

On August 8 at around 12:30 a.m., a correctional officer found the inmate unresponsive in his cell.

Emergency aid was provided, authorities said, and the inmate was transported to Saunders County Medical Center and then later taken to Bryan West, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The Saunders County Sheriff's Office and the Nebraska State Patrol are conducting an investigation into the incident.
