HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - A trial is scheduled later this month for a Juniata man charged with felony motor vehicle homicide in connection with a June 2017 fatal accident.

Court records show Peter Trausch, 21, was driving a pickup in the area of Roseland Lake west of Hastings June Fourth of last year. A passenger in his vehicle, Abby Horsley, 22, of Hastings, was sitting on the passenger window with her arms and feet outside the pickup. When the pickup hit a bump in the road, Horsley was thrown from the vehicle and suffered injuries from which she later died.

Trausch is scheduled to go on trial April 16 in Adams County District Court.

If convicted of felony motor vehicle homicide, Trausch could get up to 20 years in prison.
