Lance's Journal: Cassidy's Clothes, Mar. 9, 2018

Have you ever had something happen to you that was so overwhelmingly amazing that you just couldn't help but try and find a way to fully show your appreciation?

Well, Rita Weeks did and the result of her gratitude is an impassioned project that has made a lot of little girls smile with joy.

Over the past 16 years, Rita has given away more than 2,000 dolls and 2,000 doll wardrobes, each one of them consisting of 20 different clothing items that she has made by hand.

The story behind the project began in 1998, "Our grandson was born with major health issues."

Young Griffin's life was saved when he received a liver from a baby girl named Cassidy who passed away during a surgery.

Two years after his transplant, Griffin's family had a meeting with Cassidy's parents, "Our daughter said to Cassidy's mother, 'Is there anything we can do to help you?' and the mother's reply was, 'Always remember our daughter."
