If you're lucky, you've met someone in your life like Lou Dart.
Or better yet, you've met Lou Dart himself.
He's a one-of-a-kind Nebraskan who's big personality is a big reason why his eatery is the place to be in Bee, Nebraska.
Jennifer Nantkes is one of Lou's 20 grandchilden and she introduces us to her friendly grandfather, "This is Lou Dart, owner of Lou & Mary Anne's Bar in Bee, Nebraska, a small town where you've got a post office a church and a bar and that's about whatcha got here. He is that person that's roaming around while talking to customers, telling stories, always greeting everybody, happy, smiley, great to his grandchildren and great great grandchildren, we love being here."
Lou and his wife Mary Anne have owned this timeless bar with wall to wall orange carpet for 43 years. Lou says, "I love what I'm doing. I love the people. I'm a people person,"
Lou serves up fish on every Friday night of the year. Wednesday is gizzard night. They serve broasted pork chops on the first Sunday of every month and Saturday night is right for prime ribs and T-bones.
