LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) -- The Lincoln Parks and Recreation and Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Departments invite the public to attend Lincoln Play Day, Wednesday, August 9 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Woods Park, 33rd and “J” streets. The free event features family-friendly, all-ages activities such as Frisbee golf, bocce ball, spray chalk art, water balloon toss, the spray park and more.
Attendees should wear attire appropriate for physical activity. Youth using the spray park must wear a swimsuit. A hotdog meal will be available at the Woods Pool concession stand for $1.
The event is a part of the Play in the Parks programs. The Party in the Parks and Play in the Parks programs were created to encourage the entire community to use parks, trails and open spaces to improve individual and community health through play.
Attendees are encouraged to walk, run and ride to this wellness event. Bike racks are available throughout the park, tennis and pool areas. Parking is available at the Woods Pool and Tennis Center lot, near 32nd and “O” streets next to the Parks and Health administration building, and at the Kiwanis baseball field lot south of Woods Park.
