Lincoln native, Bill Schammert, joins 10/11 News at 5 team

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - 10/11 News is excited to officially introduce its newest member of the anchor team. Lincoln native, Bill Schammert, joins Kristin Bauer on the 5 p.m. anchor desk. Bill will report for the 10 p.m. newscast during the week.

Bill comes to 10/11 News after serving as a reporter and anchor for KOKH in Oklahoma City. He has previously worked as a journalist in Lincoln and also spent time reporting in Fargo. Bill was even an intern at 10/11 News back in Spring 2010!

"As journalists, we're all storytellers. To have the opportunity to tell the stories impacting Nebraskans at a people-first station like 10/11, it's a dream come true," Bill said.

"Bill's excitement and energy is contagious," Director of News Stephanie Hedrick said. "His experience combined with his love for his hometown community adds to our mission of serving viewers through good storytelling on matters that impact them the most."

Bill and his wife, Kym, were able to share the news of their homecoming at their January wedding. The couple graduated from Lincoln Southwest High School.
