GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - An assault case involving hot chocolate may go to trial in Grand Island.

Authorities say Zachary Menke, 32, checked himself in to CHI Health St. Francis Healthcare on November 12.

While being treated, he disclosed to the nurses that there was a warrant out for his arrest. That's when police were called.

Menke became combative and threw his cup of hot chocolate at the nurse, hitting the officer as well.

Menke is charged with felony assault on an officer and health care worker and with felony terroristic threats. Monday, Menke waived an evidence hearing and his case was handed over to district court for possible trial.
