Man faces charges after gaining entry into Wyo. Governor's residence

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (by Release / KNEP) - Security at the Governor's residence in Wyoming will be increased noticeably after a man gained unauthorized entry into the home this week.

The Wyoming Highway patrol says it happened around 1:30 in the morning Tuesday, March 6. when an individual entered the residence, activated a fire alarm and then hid inside the house.

Firefighters and law enforcement from the Cheyenne Police Department, Laramie County Sheriff’s Office and Wyoming Highway Patrol responded, and quickly discovered the subject, identified as Antonie Lewis.

Lewis was taken into custody without incident, and neither Governor Matt Mead nor his family was harmed. Lewis was taken to the Laramie County Detention facility to be held on charges of aggravated burglary and criminal entry.

The Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation is assisting in the investigation.
