Man found asleep in stolen car with muzzleloader

LINCOLN, Neb. – Authorities arrested a man who was found sleeping in the back of a stolen car with a firearm nearby.

On Tuesday night around 6 p.m., Seward County authorities asked Lincoln Police for assistance in locating a stolen 2016 Chevy Silverado.

The vehicle was stolen from Seward County earlier in the day..

Police located the vehicle at 7353 Husker Circle through OnStar tracking, and found Kenneth Barr, 30, asleep in the back seat with a .50 caliber muzzleloader on the floor.

OnStar disabled the engine, and officers approached the vehicle, giving verbal commands to Barr.

Barr complied, and was arrested without incident.

He was cited and lodged for unlawful taking and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

Police said the firearm was also stolen from Seward County from another vehicle.
