LINCOLN, Neb. – A Lincoln middle school student brought a small BB gun to school Friday, according to LPS.

A statement released to parents said a Schoo Middle School student brought the small BB handgun with them on Friday, and staff was able to confiscate the BB gun “right away”.

The school district added they are asking parents for "assistance in talking with your child about what is and isn't appropriate to bring to school, and if your child sees something that makes them feel uncomfortable to tell a trusted adult as soon as possible.

"As a reminder, weapons of any kind are not allowed on school property and we will take all reports seriously,” the statement read.
