Mother’s Room now open at Lincoln Airport

LINCOLN, Neb. -- A Mother’s Room is now available at the Lincoln Airport for mothers who need to breastfeed or express milk while traveling. The room is on the second floor of the terminal, created within the Flyer’s Club lounge. The room provides a safe, comfortable and convenient space for nursing mothers.

Lincoln Airport Executive Director David Haring says Lincoln is part of a growing trend. “We wanted to provide this service as a convenience for moms who use the Lincoln Airport. Other airports are looking at ways to meet this need, and we felt that creating a Mother’s Room was the best approach for our facility,” said Haring.

The Lincoln Airport operations team worked with MilkWorks, a nonprofit community breastfeeding center, to create the Mother’s Room. MilkWorks Executive Director Ann Seacrest says support for breastfeeding benefits our entire community via lower health care costs and healthier kids. “We work with a number of mothers who travel frequently on business. It can be challenging to find a place to nurse or express milk,” said Seacrest. “Places like Mother’s Rooms really fill a need.”
