LINCOLN, Neb. -- Police are investigating a traffic accident that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist at Saddle Creek and Leavenworth Thursday afternoon.
The crash happened at Saddle Creek and Leavenworth around 2 p.m.
It appears that the motorcyclist lost control of their bike and jumped a curb, possibly hitting some trees. It is not yet clear whether speed played a factor in the accident.
CPR was performed at the scene and the motorcyclist was taken to the University of Nebraska Medical Center where they were pronounced dead.
The intersection was shut down during the course of the initial investigation. Police advised motorists to find a different route.
The circumstances of the accident are under review.
