19-year-old dies after 4-vehicle crash in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. – 19-year-old Malik Asaad has died after a 4-vehicle traffic accident on N. 27th Street on Wednesday.

Emergency crews in Lincoln responded to the accident involving a school bus near 27th and Folkways at 3:15 p.m.

The accident also involved two cars and a truck.

There were no reports of injuries of anyone on the bus.

Asaad was taken to Bryan Medical Center West. Asaad was in critical condition, but succumbed to his injuries Thursday.

One other person who was injured in the accident was treated and released.

Since witness stories are conflicting, no citations have been issued as of yet, according to the accident report.

Lincoln Public Schools is providing police with video recorded by the bus to help provide additional details.

The 25 children who were on the bus at the time of the crash were from Dawes Middle School. None of them were injured.
