LINCOLN, (Neb.) After moving more than 100 patients out of hospitals in Houston, two Lincoln men are back home in Nebraska.
Flight paramedic Dan Duncan and Jason Peterson helped transport ICU patients. Duncan says one of the most challenging things was not knowing what kind of patient he would be helping next. He says the only information he really had was what he could see was wrong. "We really were just simply there to relocate them to an intensive unit,"
Duncan says he could tell some of the patients had just gotten out of surgery a few hours before they were transported. He has been doing this kind of work for years, but he's never seen anything like what he saw in in Texas. Even so, he says what was most incredible was how everyone came together to help.
