LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The next Mrs. Nebraska will be crowned Saturday, April 21 in Omaha. The event is the official qualifying pageant for Mrs. America.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and the pageant starts at 6:30 p.m. Admission is cash only - $35 for adults and $25 for kids.
There are nine contestants competing - each with a different platform.
Mrs. Lincoln, Dannielle Mueller Oestreich, talked with 10/11's Shelby Fenster about the upcoming pageant and her platform, awareness for Multiple Sclerosis.
Danielle said she was diagnosed with MS in 2014.
"There are over 27,000 Nebraskans that currently live with MS and there is no cure. MS is a very invisible disease and with over 70 different symptoms it's hard for people to get diagnosed. So raising awareness for that is really important."
Contestants will compete in swimsuit, interview and evening gown competitions.
