LINCOLN, Neb. The Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center holds several events to allow Nebraskans to enjoy nature and explore the state’s wildlife.
The center has some exciting events scheduled for this weekend. The Great Backyard Bird count is a free event taking place Friday and Saturday morning.
The event allows participants to be citizen scientists and discover the winter birds of Spring Creek Prairie. It’s a guided, family-fun bird walk.
The center is also holding “For the Birds!” this weekend. It’s a musical cabaret of songs about birds and nature. Local singers and musicians will perform such songs as "Bluebird" and "Skylark," all sprinkled with some actual bird songs and stories!
Tickets are free those who attend the Great Backyard Bird Count, or are available at the door for a suggested donation. Reserve your seat as space is limited.
