OMAHA, Neb. -- No injuries were reported in a fire at an OPPD building Tuesday morning.
Employees reported the roof of the building at John J Pershing Drive and Craig Avenue was on fire just before 4 a.m. Firefighters had to climb nine flights of stairs because the elevator was taken out of service as a precaution.
Coal dust continued to smolder after the fire was extinguished. Foam was used to help suppress and keep the dust from moving.
Damage estimate is between $20,000 and $30,000.
