Omaha firefighters rescue one person from attic of burning home

OMAHA, Neb. -- Firefighters saved a person from the attic of a home that caught fire early this morning. Three other people made it out on their own.

The person rescued was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Around 1:30 a.m. this morning, firefighters arrived at the home near 28th and Titus and encountered heavy smoke and flames consuming the house.

The fire was out and under control within 15 minutes, but the damage has left the residents without a place to live. The Red Cross is assisting them while they find a place stay.

The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
