OMAHA, Neb. -- One person was killed in an early-morning crash along Highway 75 at the L street exit in Omaha.

Just after 12:30 a.m., Omaha police were called to the scene of a personal injury crash on Highway 75 southbound, just north of the L street off-ramp.

Omaha Police's investigation revealed that a 2007 Chevy Trailblazer driven by 47-year-old Lonny Jameson, was southbound on Highway 75 when it was struck by a 2005 Chevy Aveo, which was going the wrong way, northbound in the southbound lanes.

The unrestrained Aveo driver was declared dead at the scene by Omaha Fire Department Medics. The driver of the Aveo has been identified, but his name is being withheld pending notification to his next of kin.

Alcohol use by the driver of the Aveo is being investigated as one factor in the crash.
