Lincoln woman convicted of motor vehicle homicide sentenced

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. - A Lincoln woman was sentenced to 12-month probation after being convicted of misdemeanor motor vehicle homicide.

Sheri Jindra, 25, was charged for her involvement in a car accident which killed Melissa Brown, 41, of Grand Island.

The accident happened December 11, 2016, at the intersection of Husker Highway and Engleman Road.

Police say Jindra missed a stop sign and struck the car Brown was driving.

Toxicology and reconstruction reports were done and court records show that Jindra was charged with misdemeanor motor vehicle homicide.

In May, Jindra pleaded no contest to the charge.
