Overnight car fire damages two homes, sends one to hospital

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - An investigation is underway after an overnight fire in northeast Lincoln that left two homes with damage and sent one person to the hospital.

Lincoln Fire and Rescue were called to the fire near 46th and Judson just after midnight Tuesday.

According to LFR, a maroon Hyundai Sonata was parked between two homes when it caught on fire for an unknown reason, causing damage to the homes on both sides, melting siding.

A male neighbor was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation after he ran over and knocked on the door of one of the homeowners to alert them.

Total damage is listed at $10,000, and the fire is being investigation as a possible arson.
