Pedestrian hit by vehicle suffers life-threatening injuries

LINCOLN, Neb. – One person suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit by a vehicle Friday evening.

Lincoln Police said the incident happened at about 8 p.m. Friday at the intersection of 62nd Street and Havelock Avenue.

Capt. Kocian said the pedestrian, identified as 59-year-old Jon Carlson of Omaha, was attempting to cross to the north side of Havelock Avenue when he was struck by a westbound minivan.

LPD said Carlson suffered a head injury and was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police didn't have any update on his condition Sunday.
