LINCOLN, Neb. – Lincoln Police arrested a 20-year-old on Thursday who threatened a man with a firearm, led police on a brief chase, and was found with a stolen handgun.

The incident took place around 12 p.m. on Thursday when officers were dispatched to the 800 Block of C Street on a reported robbery.

Police learned that the 20-year-old victim received a ride from 20-year-old Lorenzo Clemons, of Lincoln.

During the ride, Clemons displayed a handgun, pointed it at the victim, and racked the slide.

Eventually, the victim got out of the vehicle, and officers converged on the area.

Authorities attempted to pull over Clemons, and a pursuit ensued.

Police said that since they knew the identity of the driver, the pursuit posed too big of a risk to public safety, and it was quickly called off.

A short time later, police located Clemons walking in the area of 20th and Garfield streets, where he was arrested.

The vehicle, a Red Chevy Malibu, was recovered near the 2100 Block of A Street.

Police also discovered a firearm on Clemons, and it was determined that it was stolen from a vehicle in October, 2016.

Clemons was cited and lodged for terroristic threats, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of a stolen firearm, and fleeing to avoid arrest.
