LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) -- Adams Street from 40th to 42nd streets will close at 7 a.m. Monday, November 13 for replacement and expansion of a sanitary sewer line. It is scheduled to reopen by December 8. Neighborhood access will be maintained from the intersection of 42nd and Adams streets traveling west. All other drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes, including Cornhusker Highway and Huntington Avenue.
Drivers are reminded to exercise caution around construction crews. The Public Works and Utilities Department appreciates the public’s patience.
Adding extra capacity to the existing sanitary sewer line allows better flow to main lines of the system and reduces the risk of backup in extreme weather events. The project is funded by wastewater user fees as part of Lincoln Wastewater’s Capital Improvement Program.
