Pot, thousands of dollars discovered during traffic stop

LINCOLN, Neb. — The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office discovered user amounts of marijuana and large amounts of money following a traffic stop on Tuesday.

A LSO deputy stopped a Jeep near Mile Marker 390 on Interstate 80 at 11:30 a.m., and a strong smell of pot was emitting from the vehicle, authorities said.

After a search, small amounts of marijuana, 7.9 grams, and large amounts of bundled money were discovered.

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office estimated the amount of money as “tens of thousands” of dollars.

Wilfrido Estrada, 30, and Manuel Morales, 33, both of Chicago, were lodged in jail.

Morales was cited for possession of controlled substance and possession of money in violation of 28-416.17.

Estrada was cited for possession of controlled substance, possession of money in violation of 28-416.17, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
