Pursuit leads to third-offense DUI charge

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln Police arrested a Lincoln man for third-offense DUI after he lead officers on a chase overnight.

LPD spotted two vehicles speeding through the area of 1st and Cornhusker around 12:40 a.m. Friday

An officer stopped one vehicle, in which that driver claimed he had been hit by the the other vehicle.

An officer attempted to pull over the other vehicle, but a chase ensued. The suspect continued in his white Honda onto I-180 and then onto Superior Street.

The vehicle lost control and jumped an curb, but continued going southbound on 7th Street before the vehicle finally came to a stop five blocks south of Superior, near Day Star Court.

Police then arrested 23-year-old Nathan Poppe. He was arrested on multiple charges, including third-offense DUI, fleeing to avoid arrest, and driving under suspension.
