Riley, Cook hold weekly press conference

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) -- Nebraska head football coach Mike Riley and head volleyball coach John Cook spoke to the media Monday for their weekly press conference.

Riley and Quarterback Tanner Lee agreed that the bye week was a good thing for the football team and allowed them work on improving some areas that needed to be addressed while also getting a rest physically.

Riley also said running back Tre Bryant will have surgery for his knee injury Tuesday. He will apply for a medical redshirt.

The football team will travel to play Purdue on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. The game will be televised on BTN.

Cook talked about the volleyball team's strong play over the weekend, which included two more victories at the Devaney Center, 3-0 over Northwestern Friday, 3-1 over Illinois on Saturday.

The volleyball team travels to play Michigan State Friday and Michigan on Sunday.
