Riley out as Huskers head coach

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) -- University of Nebraska Athletic Director Bill Moos announced head football coach Mike Riley has been fired.

Riley, who took over the program in 2015, coached the Huskers for three years.

He went 6-7 during his first season, 9-4 last year, and 4-8 this year. Riley owns a career 112-99 record between Nebraska and Oregon State.

No permanent replacement has been named. Assistant Coach Trent Bray, who coaches Husker linebackers, will serve as head coach in the interim.
