SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - A Scottsbluff man is facing felony drug charges for allegedly mailing drug patches to a detainee in Torrington, Wyo.

Douglas Boyce, 66, was arrested Tuesday on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance, Fentanyl, and distribution of a controlled substance.

investigators with the Goshen County Sheriff's Department contacted the Nebraska State Patrol last week about Fentanyl patches being mailed to a female inmate. Court records say NSP investigators were told the person mailing the patches was Boyce, and that patches had been intercepted on two occasions in January. The Wyoming authorities also indicated that the inmate had been telling the Scottsbluff man how to send the Fentanyl in a manner to prevent being caught.

investigators obtained a search warrant for Boyce's home, and found two boxes of Fentanyl belonging to the female detainee with a total of 11 patches. Boyce was arrested after being interviewed by authorities.
