LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN)- The popular app Snapchat launched back in 2011.
Since then, it has grabbed the attention of people across the globe. But with a new setting that shows your every move, some parents are really concerned.
It's called Snapmap and it can be used to show your exact location anywhere when using the app.
With 166 million people using it for free, parents say they're worried about safety.
"It's incredibly scary and just one more thing that I don't know kids shouldn't have," said Chris Hasse, parent of a middle-schooler.
Attorney Karen Hasse works with Lincoln Public Schools to warn teens about the dangers of social media.
"I'm not a not a super private person, but that is one step further in giving up my privacy to Snapchat than I think anybody should take," said Karen Hasse, KSB Lawfirm attorney.
