Star City Buzz: 2017 Mud Run

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Nebraska State Fair
While it's not in the Star City, this weekend is the start of the Nebraska State Fair.
The State Fair runs from August 25 through September 4.

August 31: for King & Country
September 1: Lynyrd Skynyrd
September 2: Joan Jett & The Blackhearts
September 3: Cole Swindell

2017 Mud Run
Nebraska's original mud run is this weekend at the Lancaster Event Center.
Mud Run 2017 is Saturday, August 26.
The 3 mile course has obstacles, creek crossings, mud pits and a slip-n-slide.
Check in starts at 7:30 AM.
The first run is at 9:00 AM
The deadline to register for the 1 mile fun run is Friday, August 25 at 5:00 PM.

Bites, Brews & BBQ
Also at the Lancaster Event Center this weekend is the first ever Bites, Brews & BBQ.
Saturday's event is the search for the top backyard grill-master in the star city.
Doors open at 2:00 PM.
The grills fire up at 3:00 PM.
Music starts at 4:00 PM.
At Bites, Brews & BBQ, you can buy your favorites from local restaurants and breweries.

Red Panda Run
Saturday, August 26 is the annual Red Panda Run at the Lincoln Children's Zoo.
Races begin at 8:00 AM.
Registration is $29 for members and $35 for non-members.
You can register through the Lincoln Children's Zoo's website.

Skate Art Music Festival
On Saturday, August 26, The Bay and KFRX are taking over the Railyard for the 3rd Annual Skate Art Music Festival.
From 10 AM to 12:00 PM, there's skate school.
From 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, there's open course skate.
At 7:00 PM, you can watch the invite-only competition.
There will also be interactive art projects, live music, and more.
Skate Art Musical Festival is free and open to the public.

4th Annual Star City Chalk Walk
The 4th Annual Star City Chalk Walk is on Saturday, August 26 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Help chalk the sidewalks of downtown Lincoln on O Street between 12th and 13th.
The event is free.

Mystery on the Prairie
Saturday, August 26 is a special event benefiting the Friends of the Pioneers Park Nature Center.
From 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM there will be dinner, drink and theater set in the 1890.
Guests of Mystery on the Prairie are encouraged to dress up.

Pink Floyd Laser Spectacular
The Pink Floyd Laser Spectacular is at the Bourbon Theatre on Saturday, August 26.
Hear and see the music of Pink Floyd like you've never experienced it before.
Doors open at 8:00 PM. The show starts at 9:00 PM.
General Admission is $25 or $45 for Reserved Seating.

Jimmy Buffet Tribute Concert
On Friday, August 25, Deer Springs Winery is hosting a Jimmy Buffet Tribute Concert.
The show is from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
There's also a Hawaiian BBQ dinner for purchase.
Cover charge for the show is $5.

Brunch on the Square
Wrap up your weekend with Brunch on the Square.
Brunch on the Square is at Tavern on the Square starting at 12:00 PM on Sunday, August 27.
Brunch is $10.
All ages and dogs are welcomed.
