LINCOLN, Neb. Summer is just weeks away and now parents are brainstorming how to keep the kids active all summer long.

Nebraska Game and Parks has open registration for some of their day camps at the Outdoor Education Center and it's a place where kids can master some new skills.

Kids can learn how to cook, the basics of camping and kids can also take part in archery practice.

Nebraska Game and Parks says archery is a hands-on interactive sport for kids.

If you would like more information about registration you can go to the link above, outdoornebraska.gov.

Their summer kickoff event is on May 20th, their summer day camp, Wild Woods Survival" is July 5th and 6th and their Outdoor Explorer's day camp is June 21st to June 23rd.
