SARPY COUNTY, Neb. (WOWT) -- Sexual assault suspect Stephen Prior waived his preliminary trial Tuesday afternoon.

Prior is in Sarpy County Jail accused of 8 felonies including first-degree sexual assault.

Prior faces charges of Sexual Assault/Forcible-1st-Degree, False Imprisonment, Possession of a Firearm while Committing a Felony, Robbery, and Burglary. Charges of possession firearm by prohibited person, possessing or receiving stolen firearm, and terroristic threats were prior charges that were also brought against him.

The home invasion and attack happened October 18th near 156th and Giles Road. Prior lives in the same neighborhood.

The sexual assault prompted a manhunt in the area and police finally tracked him down.

Investigators believe he might be connected to other sexual assaults that all have a common thread.

Each of the victims worked in the medical field.

Prior's sister spoke with our sister station WOWT 6 News after the hearing. "I had no idea what had happened to my brother, " Cherie Prior said. "I don't even think my brother did any of this. I have no idea what had happened. I haven't even talked to my brother. This is my first time seeing him. I love him with all my heart and soul. "

Prior is currently being held without bond.
