Larceny suspect leaves stolen insurance card behind

LINCOLN, Neb. – Officers discovered a burglary and a larceny were connected after the suspect left behind stolen items in a vehicle.

Lincoln Police said on Wednesday morning a man discovered someone had entered and rummaged through his car.

The investigating officer located numerous items left behind by the suspect, including a rifle scope and an insurance card.

The officer made contact with the 44-year-old man whose name was on the insurance card, who said he was unaware his items were missing, police said.

After checking his property, the 44-year-old found someone entered his unlocked detached garage, and stole a BB rifle, a BB pistol, and a motorcycle helmet, among other items.
