WEST POINT, Neb. -- After James Meiergerd caught the attention of the Harlem Globetrotters earlier this month with a backward half-court shot, Globetrotters star El Gato Melendez visited his high school in Nebraska Monday as the team prepares for games in Lincoln and Omaha.

The video above shows the now famous 18-year old with Down syndrome making yet another epic shot at West Point-Beemer High School. This time, James accomplished the feat in front of his entire school and a world famous basketball star, who had an important message for the students.

The Globetrotters are preparing for games at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln Friday, Feb. 2 at 7 p.m. and the Centurylink Center in Omaha on Friday, April 6 at 7 p.m.

Meiergerd and his family have been invited by the Globetrotters to join the team on the bench at their game in Omaha.
