Two suspects are in custody on drug charges resulting from a traffic stop on Wednesday.

A Douglas County Sheriff's deputy stopped an eastbound Chrysler 300 near 20th Street after observing a traffic violation around 12:30 a.m. The deputy became suspicious during the stop and deployed K9 Fletch who became suspicious too.

A subsequent search of the car turned up a cardboard box in the trunk containing three bags of suspected methamphetamine - more than three pounds in all.

Authorities also found three packages of prescription fentanyl.

The driver, Michael Snyder, 30, of Washington and a passenger, Liane Ellsworth, 32, of Indiana were traveling from California to Indiana.

Both were arrested and booked for Possession With Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine and Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp.
