Two arrested for drive-by shooting in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Lincoln Police have arrested two people they believe are responsible for a drive-by shooting in Lincoln on the Fourth of July.

The incident took place on July 4 around 4:30 p.m. in the 1800 Block of Garfield Street.

Police said the 18-year-old victim reported five people were inside the home when someone shot eight times at the residence.

Upon investigation, officers identified Brian Jennings, 24, and Beverlee Thomas, 24, as possible suspects.

Video surveillance from a business along the route the vehicle took to and from the home verified Thomas and Jennings as the people responsible, police said.

Jennings was arrested for discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling and use of a firearm to commit a felony.

Thomas was arrested for aiding and abetting two felonies.
