Two arrested for drugs, stolen firearms at Lincoln motel

LINCOLN, Neb. – Two people were arrested at a Lincoln motel after police responded to calls of a man threatening to shoot people.

On July 18 just before 11:30 p.m., officers responded to the Sharon Motel, located at 1717 Cornhusker Highway.

The caller said the man was in possession of a stolen gun, and that a second gun was also in the motel room. The caller also said he was under the influence of methamphetamine.

Officers made contact with three men and two women inside the room, and there was a strong odor of marijuana, police said.

A search warrant was obtained, and officers found a 9mm handgun that had been reported stolen out of Omaha, as well as 2.8 grams of pot, meth, and paraphernalia.

Chase Bass, 23, was arrested for possession of a stolen firearm, and Rachel Higgins, 27, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of a stolen firearm.
