Lincoln, Neb. (KOLN) - Mason Wood, 11 and Myles Johnson, 6 are patients at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital's Lincoln Campus. Through daily therapy sessions, the two became friends and have encouraged each other to get better.
Both are at the hospital for different reasons; Mason suffered a stroke after brain surgery to fix seizures and Myles had complications during a past surgery.
Both of their parents said the friendship has helped with their recovery.
"It's made it a lot easier they can do stuff together, they enjoy doing it, it makes it fun for both of them," said Lindy Wood.
The boys have enjoyed playing baseball, watching movies, and playing cards.
"They don't really see disabilities, they just kinda see a little friend," said Michelle Johnson, Myles' mom.
Friday night the boys were VIP guests at the Saltdogs. They stood on the field and had baseballs signed by players.
