LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) -- Lincoln Fire and Rescue crews responded to a vacant home near N. 24th and W streets.
The first firefighters on scene saw heavy smoke coming out of the home.
The batallion chief says the fire was in the basement, but it took firefighters a some time to find the door to the basement.
After finding it, they were able to put the flames out quickly.
Fire inspectors are on scene trying to determine what caused the fire and how much damage it caused.
