Koster becomes Kearney's all-time leading scorer in win over North Star

KEARNEY, Neb.-- It took nearly a quarter, but Kanon Koster's two-hand slam gave him the Kearney scoring record.

Coming into Saturday night's game against North Star, Koster needed just two points to pass Tanner Engel on the Kearney High all-time scoring list .

However, the Bearcats came out sluggish. North Star built a nine-point lead. Kearney would fire right back with a 9-0 run of their own, capped off by the Koster dunk.

Koster would end the night with 1,428 career points.

They Bearcats would go onto win, 52-40.
