Luke McCaffrey commits to Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. — Scott Frost and the Huskers landed a big commitment from the 2019 class Monday.

Luke McCaffrey, the younger brother of former Stanford star and current Carolina Panther Christian McCaffrey and the son of three-time Super Bowl champion Ed McCaffrey, announced his commitment to the Huskers on Twitter Monday afternoon.

Rated as a three-star recruit by many, although a four-star by 247Sports composite, McCaffrey is a playmaker.

The top-rated player in Colorado, he plays quarterback, running back, receiver and returns kicks for his high school team, though he's viewed as a great quarterback prospect at Nebraska.

McCaffrey had interest from most big-time programs, including Ohio State, Michigan (who his brother Dylan signed with in 2017), North Carolina, Ole Miss and many others.

247Sports composite rates him as the 17th best "athlete" in the country, and as a top 300 player.
