Watson scores 29 as Huskers upset No. 14 Minnesota

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Nebraska junior guard Glynn Watson Jr. scored a game-high 29 points to lead the Huskers past No. 14 Minnesota, 78-68, Tuesday night at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Nebraska (7-3 overall, 1-1 Big Ten) led 39-31 at halftime and the Huskers extended their lead to as much as 17 points until a late surge by the Golden Gophers cut into the deficit.

The Big Red shot 47.2% from the field and made 22 free throws to help seal the win.

Nebraska is back in action Saturday at Creighton. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
