Zoning in on Upcoming Events at the Zone

Hastings, Nebraska- The Middle School Zone is off to a strong start again this year with 45 to 50 students attending faithfully and reaching as many as 65 students.

The Middle School Zone is off to a strong start again this year with 45 to 50 students attending faithfully and reaching as many as 65 students. Youth have been participating in the usual activities from hands on educational activities, crafts, sports, board games, computer and gaming activities and homework help. The Zone staff has seen a huge increase in students participating in the homework help club. The homework club will also be rewarding Zone students for receiving A’s on their report cards.

November 10th, the Hastings College Music Department will be escorting 20 to 25 students to the Back Alley Bakery for a great time of music and treats.

November 12th, at 4:00 the YWCA will accept a check from Walmart to pay for new gym equipment. Walmart granted the Zone $1,000 to purchase much need balls and other equipment that the Zone did not have previously. This ceremony will be held at the Zone at 317 S. Burlington Ave.

November 20th, the youth will participate in Box City. They will be holding a soup supper. The soup supper will be open to the public and the Zone will be asking for a free will donation of a canned food item or money to go back to those in need. The soup supper will be held at the Police Station Auditorium from 5:00-7:00. The donations will go back to Continum of Care.
