A Kearney manufacturing executive has been selected to represent part of south-central Nebraska on the state Game and Parks Commission board.
Gov. Dave Heineman announced his intention to appoint Norris Marshall on Thursday. Marshall would represent District IV, which includes Buffalo County and Kearney.
Marshall says he loves to hunt waterfowl and is a student of the Platte River and endangered species.
He owns Marshall Engines in Kearney, which remanufactures marine, vehicle and commercial engines. And Marshall says he and his wife, Lori, have a cow/calf operation.
Marshall would replace James Ziebarth. He has been named to the state committee of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Farm Service Agency, so he had to leave the commission.
