Children's book author/illustrator Preston McDaniels of Aurora will work
with Howard Elementary School students on Feb. 15 and Feb. 16 to promote writing, Principal Julie Schnitzler said.

McDaniels will show students how he gets ideas for writing and will also demonstrate some of his writing and drawing.

McDaniels will work with students at these times on Feb. 15 and Feb. 16 at the school at 502 W. Ninth St.:

*8:15 a.m.-8:45 a.m. and 8:45 a.m.-9:15 a.m. Feb. 15, first grade

*9:15-9:35 a.m., 9:40 a.m.-10 a.m., 10:05 a.m.-10:25 a.m., and 10:30
a.m.-10:50 a.m. Feb. 15, kindergarten

*11:30 a.m.-noon and noon-12:30 p.m. Feb 15, first grade

*12:30 p.m.-1 p.m., 1 p.m.-1:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m.-2 p.m., 2 p.m.-2:30 p.m.,
and 2:30 p.m.-3 p.m. Feb. 15, second grade

*8:15 a.m.-8:55 a.m., 8:55 a.m.-9:35 a.m., and 9:35 a.m.-10:15 a.m. Feb.
16, third grade

*10:15 a.m.-10:55 a.m., 10:55 a.m.-11:35 a.m., and 11:35 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Feb. 16, fourth grade

*12:45 p.m.-1:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m.-2:15 p.m., and 2:15 p.m.-3 p.m. Feb. 16,
fifth grade
