Trooper Seizes Meth Headed for Grand Island

A traffic stop on Interstate 80 in Hall County, Nebraska led to the seizure of 1.5 lbs. of methamphetamine believed headed for Grand Island.

Just after noon on Wednesday, March 10, a trooper with the Nebraska State Patrol Troop C Headquarters- Grand Island, stopped an eastbound 1998, Toyota Camry for speeding two miles west of the Grand Island Interchange on Interstate 80. The trooper was given consent to search the vehicle. The search led to the seizure of 1.5 lbs. of methamphetamine. The meth found hidden in the vehicle’s air bag compartment has an estimated street value of $20,000. Evidence located in the vehicle indicated the destination of the drugs was Grand Island.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, Daniel Gonzales, 44, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, was lodged in the Hall County Jail on a charge of Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver.
